Flowers, castles, and picnics--adventures à giverny

On May 1st, France has a national holiday called la Fête du Travail. Everything closes down, and many Parisians get out of the city for the day. Well, do as the Romans do (or I guess in this case, Parisians). So, Melissa, Maccord, Heather and I woke up in the wee hours of the morning and took the train to Giverny. I thought I loved Paris. But that was until I went to the French countryside. I think I left my heart there, along with the windy river, fields of flowers, and quaint houses. I love the cosmopolitan feel of Paris. But Giverny simply felt so European that at the end of the day I considered running away and staying forever.

  1. And the yellow kitchen in Monet's house! I could live there forever.
